planter forms

self watering: precidence

functions of clay

food:
in countries where food is scarce, clay is eaten to fulfill the lack of minerals (salt) found in people daily diets

Slip cast:
clay is cheap and light weight. slip cast is a great solution to low impact, low compression mold making. processes is fast and low tech

knife set:
ceramic can be extremely sharp and hard. ceramic knives keep their sharp edge longer then normal metal knives

jewelry:

hair straighter:
ceramic is great for retaining heat

self watering planter

the self planter is a simple idea using a very low tech solution. the body of the planter is molded in ceramic which has the ability to be either porous or completely sterile and sealed. the planter is placed over a hidden water source and uses a wick and capillary action to water the plant

(capillary action)

the wick is laced through the bottom and rests in the bottom of the plant where the plant can absorb water as needed.

as water is absorbed through the wick, the plant on top is able to absorb water from the dampened strong

light divider

light divider is attached to the common florescent light that is found in many dorms. using a simple lever system, pull the rope that redirects light using a reflective panel that can the be locked into place.

the panel is in neutral, dispersing even light to the whole room

the light is now directed to the roommate on the left to they can do their homework at night.

iron, steamer

a ceramic room humidifier/ steamer is attached to a hot iron. the steamer is filled with water. as the iron heat the water, steamed is form. you are able to treat your garments all at the same time.

milk jug pitcher

this is a common container that has potential to be used in useful ways, i just haven't discovered them yet. this is a simple prototype of a plastic cup cut and taped to a milk jug.

the jug becomes a pitcher for mixed juices like koolaid or orange juice.

flask forms

ceramic/ vacuum formed flask is focusing on creating a wedge shape to allow the flask to fit better into pockets, waist bands and bras.

main concerns are the integrity of the material. the sealing mechanism. ideas of a cork plug in a ceramic slip model. as well as a vacuum form case or rubberized protective coat

this is an example of a well cased ceramic flask
